I've always loved pepper. I remember coming home from school and asking my aunty to make me the hottest Indomie noodles she could. I'd later describe it as the kind of noodles where you just have to take off a few layers of clothing because you will be hot everywhere. There was always something I loved about the heat and the flavour of our pepper foods. So it hurt my feelings when I would see hot sauces with no flavour, only heat.
I especially became inspired to do more with pepper when I travelled to Trinidad. On the night before I left, my friend's mother called her sister-friends over to make me a batch of goodbye Trini pepper sauce. When I left her house with three bottles, it wasn't just pepper sauce in my bag, but bottles and bottles of motherly love gifted to keep me warm on my next journey.
This is why we started. And this is what we are about. A product made with love that's filled with the right balance of flavour and heat.
